From December 10-14, Durban, Centurion, and Johannesburg will host T20Is. A press release from the cricket board said that Paarl, Cape Town, and Johannesburg will host the ODIs from December 17 to 22 and Centurion and Cape Town will host the two ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 matches from December 26 to 30 and January 3 to 7.

The PCB stated the national team will leave for Durban on December 2 after returning from Australia on November 19 after three ODIs and three T20Is from November 4 to 18. After finishing their African safari on January 8, the national team will play New Zealand and South Africa in a three-nation ODI event at home before the eight-team ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan.

Before touring Australia and South Africa, Pakistan will host Bangladesh and England for two and three Tests. Pakistan will play seven Tests, a minimum of 10 ODIs, and six T20Is from August 2024 to January 2025, according to the PCB.

South Africa will host Pakistan’s seventh Test tour since 1994-95. Two Test wins came in 1997-98 and 2006-2007. So, Pakistan won the 1997-98 Durban Test by 29 runs thanks to centuries from Azhar Mahmood (132) and Saeed Anwar (118), Mushtaq Ahmed’s nine for 149, and Shoaib Akhtar’s first innings five-fer. Pakistan won the 2006-2007 Port Elizabeth Test by five wickets with Inzamam-ul-Haq named Player of the Match for his 92 in the first innings.

Also, Pakistan has won two of the last three ODI series, 2013-2014 and 2020-21, whereas South Africa won the 2002-2003 series 4-1, 2006-2007 by 3-1, 2012-2013 by (3-2), and 2018-2019 by 3-2. Pakistan leads 12 T20Is 6-5, with one match a no-result.
